Qualifying Industrial Zone (QIZ)
The Qualifying Industrial Zone (QIZ) includes two separate Free Trade Agreements (FTAs): QIZ of Egypt-USA-Israel and QIZ of Jordan-USA-Israel, which both of them are based on the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the USA and Israel. Still, the QIZ of Palestine can be considered either under the FTA of Israel-USA (Occupied territories) or through the QIZ of Jordan (West Bank). Anyway, the ongoing Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation alongside the Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza and the West Bank makes the QIZ of Palestine irrelevant, regardless of the ‘Cold Peace’ between Israel-Egypet and Israel-Jordan, which makes the QIZ of Egypt and the QIZ of Jordan much less active than it was planned to be, because the ‘Arab Street’, and in particular, the Arab business communities in Egypt and Jordan are less willing to make business with Israel when Israel has carried out its harsh occupation against the Palestinians. That has led to the situation that in the recent two decades, governmental authorities, media outlets and research papers have rarely published data or articles about the QIZs.
