Virgin Islands, USA
United States Virgin Islands has been a Colony of the USA since 1917 when the USA bought the Danish West Indies (former name of Virgin Islands) from Denmark that held the colony during the years 1814-1917, still, when slavery was abolished in 1848, Denmark found the colony less attractive on the economic level, so Denmark sold it to the USA in 1917. Since then, the United States Virgin Islands has been a colony of the USA under the status of Unincorporated and Organized Territory of the United States namely, Unincorporated Territories are not integral parts of the USA, so each territory has a self-governing that includes the Governor, the Cabinet and Territorial Legislature.
