Isle of Man, UK
Isle of Man has been a Self-Governing Territory since 979, yet Isle of Man has been a Colony of the UK since the 13th century when the King of Norway sold his rights over the Isle of Man to the King of Scotland under the Treaty of Perth, which after that, became a feudal lordship of the English Crown in 1399, still, Isle of Man never became part of the Kingdom of Great Britain nor part of the UK until today. However, the Isle of Man is a Self-Governing Territory of the British Crown Dependency that has Self-Government and Self-Parliament without representatives in the UK Parliament nor recognition as an Independent State. Nevertheless, the Isle of Man falls under British sovereignty namely, the UK is responsible for the defence and international representation of the Isle of Man, still, in 2007, the Isle of Man and the UK agreed on forming a framework for the evolving of the international identity of the Isle of Man. Moreover, the Isle of Man has its own language and its own currency and it was never part of the EU before Brexit like the UK.
