Blog on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Trade by Dr. Ziva Rozen-Bakher to Identify Risks versus Opportunities at the Country Level

Blog on FDI and International Trade by Alphabetical Order https://www.rozen-bakher.com/search-blog-1

This blog focuses on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and International Trade in a certain country or territory in terms of how the Location Factors (Political, Economic, Technological, Ecological, Legal and Cultural) and Entry Modes (e.g. M&As, Export and Greenfield) impact the attractiveness - or vice versa - the risks of FDI and International Trade in the certain country or territory, still, keep in mind that each risk may lead to an opportunity for resolving problems via suitable FDI and International Trade, while each opportunity for FDI and International Trade may involve risks.

Norfolk Island, Australia

Distance from Norfolk Island to Australia: 1,901 Km (Straight line distance Capital-to-Capital in Km, Map Developers)

Since the 18th century, Norfolk Island is an Australian colony, started mainly for penal settlement when Australia was still a British colony, so some prisoners were sent to Norfolk Island rather to Australia, yet in the mid-19 century, a settlement was started on Norfolk Island by islanders that arrived from Pitcairn Islands. At the start of the 20th century, Australia became an Independence country by creating a union of six British colonies that one of them administratively was included the Norfolk Island. However, Norfolk Island has had a self-governance from 1979 until 2015 when the self-governing of Norfolk Island was abolished by the government of Australia, despite the results of the local referendum and the wish of Norfolk Island for self-determination, so since 2015 until today, Norfolk Island runs by an appointed Australian Administrator, which has led to sovereignty dispute between Norfolk Island and Australia (see below).

The territory of Norfolk Island includes three islands: Norfolk Island, Phillip Island and Nepean Island.
