New Caledonia has been a Colony of France since 1853. New Caledonia has a status of French Unique Collectivity under the Nouméa Accord of 1998, in which New Caledonia got limited autonomy from France that run by the Congress of New Caledonia and the Government of the New Caledonia.

Note, New Caledonia has two flags: the Flag of France, as well as the Kanak flag of the independence movement FLNKS which was approved to use by the Congress of New Caledonia in 2010.

New Caledonia includes the Grande Terre Island, the Loyalty Islands, the Bélep Islands, and the Île des Pins.
