09 March 2022 at 06:19. If you believe in the principles of democracy, then you should respect the political views of others even if they are totally different from yours. First, the Witch-hunting against Russian individuals and organizations including oligarchs that have no say about Putin's policy must end immediately. Any individual and organization can choose their leadership in an election in case of democracy, still, after the election, they have de-facto no say about the policy of the country until the next election, such as the 'State of Emergency' that Canada declared to stop the protests against the policy of the government. Second, If you believe in the principles of democracy, then you should respect that there are many Russians that favour the policy of Putin because they see the acts of Ukraine as a security threat for Russia. To illustrate it, try to think about how you will feel if a rival country will decide to enlarge its military capabilities near the border of your country, especially not far from the capital of your country. Therefore, Russian individuals and organizations should not be politically persecuted for their political views or about the policy of their government. My analysis is that the bad decision of Western leaders to hunt Russian oligarchs despite that they did not do any wrongdoing except that they are rich, gives the 'green light' to the public to start the political persecution against Russian communities in Western countries. This political hunting reminds darkness regimes, so it should stop immediately from the 'top to the button'.
